VIDEOPIMP.org is doing TORRENT DOWNLOADS now!
As many of you know (or you don't know, anyway!) they are a video group and I think the only group that are still alive and doing well. Since 2001 , Tons and Thousands of Rock and Metal videos are released by this group. Until June 2009 the only way to have full access to this huge archive was to log in to #videopimp. The VIDEOPIMP channel on IRC. If you don't know what IRC is, click here to learn about it.
And now, after all these years they are trying to bring their videos a little closer to us! This is just awesome! You can check out their release list here. It's actually a searchable database where you can search the videos based on artist's name, song names, date of release and even ripper's name.
I will put some of their released videos here on blog. Check out the videos and see what they've done there! Also you can download their last rips in VIDEOPIMP.org right now. If you like the videos then remember that you can download the full releases of each and every month via Torrent files. To get the Torrent files, you MUST be signed in to videopimp.org Forum.
You are not even forced to download the complete monthly packs. You are able to choose what files you wish to download if you use a torrent client such as uTorrent.
Generally for the first 2-3 weeks, the torrent is being seeded by a dedicated server at speeds of over 5,000kb per second but after that it's up to people who downloaded the files to seed them.
MOST IMPORTANT THING:
Please DO NOT DELETE the torrent file after you finished, continue to SEED the Torrents to keep them alive. It's generally considered a good idea to leave your client open as long as possible, since it helps other users. Without seeding, this huge archive can not be shared anymore.
A seed is a client which has a completed file. Seeding is the process of connecting to a torrent when you have a complete file. There are two ways to do this:
1. Leave your client open after the download completes. Once you have the entire file you become a seed, and the BitTorrent client remains connected to the swarm, sending to other users until you close it.
2. By clicking on a torrent link (or opening a saved .torrent file) and selecting a filename of a file that has already completed. BitTorrent will check over the file and realize that it's already complete, and continue to connect to the tracker and serve as a seed.
SO DO NOT FORGET, SEED IT AFTER YOU FINISHED!
